Instagram has introduced a brand new feature to its short video format that resembles TikTok known as Reels. The Meta-owned company has again took an page from the book of TikTok and added the capability to include user-generated comments as stickers that can be seen on Reels. This option is similar in the way TikTok lets users upload videos through its website.
Also known in the form of Visual Replies, the feature permits creators to respond to comments from users by using Reels video content. With this feature creators will be able to incorporate user comments into pop-up stickers in the latest Instagram Reels videos. According to the company, will open up new avenues for creators to engage with their followers through Reels.

For those who aren’t aware, TikTok rolled out the Video Replies feature last year to allow users to provide the context of their videos and engage their viewers in a fresh method. The feature became a hit on TikTok and, judging with recent trends recently observed trendsof companies replicating TikTok’s Chinese video-sharing platform and its features, it was only an issue of time before Instagram added the feature to its platform.
Now that it’s launched Reels that Instagram has introduced, Reels appears closer to the Chinese rival TikTok. The company has been rolling out a variety of different options in Reels to put it comparable to TikTok as well as other social media platforms such as YouTube Shorts and Snapchat. The platform recently began to add voice-to-text and text effects capabilities.
This platform is seeing a huge growth in the number creators since it was first launched in the year. In the future, we anticipate Instagram to create Reels more robust and feature-rich for creators of content.
